After attending Relationships class and multiple sessions with my counselor, I realized I had a tendency to be codependent, which helped lead me to the drug and alcohol abuse. I have learned to identify that behavior and ways to grow and overcome it. I have also learned how to have the tough conversations with people at home that I needed to have. I have created an aftercare plan that I believe will be effective, as well as a relapse prevention plan. This program breaks down the behavior of addiction and shows you how to identify these behaviors. It also helps you develop the tools needed to cope in healthy ways. I strongly feel that Serenity Point Recovery has saved my life in this way, and I look forward to applying the tools I have learned here.
