Jamie Thompson was born and raised in Bastrop, Texas. She attended Southern Career Institute for her Medical Assistant Certificate in 2002 and 2015, and went on to National American University, where she graduated with honors on the President’s List and Summa Cum Laude. Jamie also received her license for Vocational Nursing. Jamie got her start in the addiction field when she was working in a county jail for over 6 years. In the last 3 years, she was the Director of Nursing at an exclusive male rehab facility. Jamie is not in recovery; however, her life has been touched in so many ways by recovery. Her cousin and best friend overdosed in 2008 on opiates and it changed her world. After that tragedy and working in law enforcement, she really saw how challenging the world of addiction can be. Jamie enjoys being of service to people in recovery, providing encouragement and love, and showing them that people care and are invested in them. She loves to be a part of their recovery journey. Her favorite part of being the Director of Nursing at Banyan is supporting her team and advocating for her nursing staff and the clients. She loves creating a therapeutic environment for the staff and supporting them in creating the same for the clients. Jamie’s goal for her career at Banyan is to create an atmosphere of acceptance, encouragement and longevity amongst the staff. She wants to plant the seed and grow along with the other staff members to have the best working environment possible.

Dr. Listengarten has been practicing medicine since 1986 and he specializes in the field of psychiatry and addiction medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Throughout his career, he has focused on addictive disorders and treatment of co-occurring disorders. He has served as attending psychiatrist in several hospitals in Arizona and Texas. He served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and the Director of Chemical Dependence Unit at HCA Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital. He continued his practice at San Antonio Behavioral Health Hospital and currently serves as Director of Chemical Dependence Unit. He also practices at Soba Texas providing psychiatric and chemical dependency consultations and treatment to patients in all levels of care.

Dr. Green received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas in 1996 and his Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He had originally trained in anesthesiology, but after confronting his own addiction issues in 2004 decided to train in psychiatry and dedicate himself to helping those who struggle with addiction and co-morbid mental illness. Dr. Green completed his psychiatry residency training at John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth, TX. He has worked at Terrell State Hospital, North Texas State Hospital and with the Right Step Treatment Centers. Dr. Green is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Dr. Green believes that effective treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction should address co-occurring disorders, and that treatment must be holistic, strength-based, and multidisciplinary. He focuses on the biological, interpersonal, holistic and spiritual aspects of alcohol and drug addiction, as well as their interaction with depression, anxiety, trauma and mood disorders. He strives to give clients individualized care that gives them the opportunity to live a sober and abundant life one day at a time.
