Strength:The faith based programs and the accountability you are held to. weakness: The staff are not consistent and are not trained in dealing with people coming off drugs and that have mental issues also. It was a really great place when I went in 2 years ago but since then it has gone down hill they tend to play favorites and it seems as if the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. There is no consistency there and when someone truly needs the help and knows if they leave they will relapse the staff doesn't care I would definitely recommend looking into more caring and understanding facilities then Gospel rescue mission. I was once very proud of the work they did there but now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Many different issues with the people there while I was. Workaholic, exercise addiction, drugs, love, shop lifting, over eating, depression, self esteem, marriage, social skills, abuse (both as adults and children). We were assigned to groups, so I had both men and women, some all women, some all men. I wish I had the money to send one of my sons for his alcohol addiction. I wish I would have stayed at least 6 weeks instead of just 30 days.
Out of all of the programs Ive been to over the years this is the program that finally gave me what I was looking for. They treated me like family and knew when to push me. Every other place Id been to I just coasted through and relapsed days or weeks after leaving. Soul Surgery kept in touch with me weekly after I graduated and made sure I was still on the path they laid out for me. I still to this day talk to members of their team and attend their alumni program as often as I can. I truly and forever grateful for their program and how it changed my life.
Many are unaware of the full range of its effects and claim that it is safe, harmless and non-addictive, which are all false.
What to Bring to RecoveryMany facilities will ask you to bring proper sleepwear, including a robe. There may be activities and meetings at night, so the facility will want to ensure you are dressed appropriately to be around other patients. Check with your facility before arriving and make sure you pack the right clothing, since what you can and cannot bring varies from one recovery facility to another.
Drinking During PregnancyAlthough many women will immediately stop drinking alcohol once they learn they are pregnant, some are so addicted that they cannot stop. Continuing to drink risks damage to the growing fetus.
Sierra Vista has at least a half-dozen recovery services in town, including treatment centers. The help you need to be rid of drugs or alcohol is out there. It's your turn to make the next move.
