strength:Inteligent staff, considerate, concerned, caring, and strictly enforcing the rules. weakness:Housing was old and falling apart. After attending two other rehabs, I felt the love and concern at this rehab. I learned more about addiction than any of others combined.
We hired a staff member to help a family member detox from prescription opiates. It was important to us and them that it be at home, and medically supervised, due to their health, and visibility in the community. Her service covered everything, and she was incredibly helpful in terms of educating us on what it takes to get someone clean. It was nothing short of a miracle to see the transformation. We were deeply impressed by the professionalism and skill she has.
Strengths: Staff's level of training and/or experience; general program for both acute treatment and assistance to outpatient and the "alumni" :) Weakness: ...sometimes the food would look better after being expelled through the digestive tract. As an extension of Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, I consider myself blessed and am so grateful to have been able to succeed at life via the fifteenth chance, this time presented by CRC. I graduated their 30 day program the day before my 24th birthday, and two months before my fiancées 26th birthday (also a user but not in recovery) In two months I'll be 27. I will again, be celebrating this birthday sober (by choice!) yet without my fiancée (not by choice). He, along with many others, is forever 27. He never was able to get the help I did at CRC, and at age 27 he overdosed on her ion, our DOC, and sadly, I have to maintain sobriety through grief but again, CRC makes THAT seem achievable; graduates are considered alumni and may return for meetings, BBQs, etc, for life. I wish Zack had the chance that this facility gave me. If possible, attend this program if you are an addict. Addicts know that some people get it, some don't. The staff at CRC not only "gets it," they will make sure you "get it" too. Proud CRC Alumni right here:)
While some facilities allow people to simply walk in and start treatment, most addiction therapists encourage their addicts to do their homework before they sign up, looking for just the right kind of program to meet their needs. Addictions can do damage to your physical health, and you might already be in a doctor's care for those concerns. If so, be sure to talk to your doctor before you enroll in a treatment program. This will allow your doctor and your therapists to work together to ensure that you get the help you'll need for both your addiction and your physical health.
