Great Oaks Recovery Center

My son spent 30 days in May at this facility and it saved his life - they taught him about addiction, how to deal with it and how to accept it and how to bring these skills home. They saved his life, brought my son back into my life and if you or someone you love are serious about handling addiction -- this is THE place to go. My son is still in constant contact with his counselor , is serious about handling it with AA on a constant basis. I can not say enough good things about this place.

Government-Funded Treatment Facilities

Government-funded treatment facilities are subsidized by the government or through donations. Here are some facts about them:

  • They are free or low cost.
  • They are often only available to certain people, such as pregnant women or the homeless.
  • The facilities are very basic, offering very few amenities.
  • The staff-to-patient ratio is very high, so individual time is limited.
  • Almost all have waiting lists, so it can be difficult to enter one.
