The staff was amazing! They all cared about how I was doing. They are understanding of some of the struggles I was going through. And always made time for me. They were was on top of all my after care plans making sure everything was set up for me when I got home. They were always there if I needed to talk. One staff member had a way to make me feel ok even when I had bad anxiety. His guitar playing was awesome! There were very understanding of some of the issues I was going through at home. Another staff member was very positive and upbeat and made me feel welcome. I gained the skills I needed to return home stay sober, feel alive, and really enjoy my recovery! I thank God for all of them. In their own ways they all helped in saving my life. The mindfulness counseling gave me the courage to face some very difficult situations when I arrived home. I continue to use these practices in my daily life and its made me a very grounded and thankful person!

My addiction took me to places I never imagined. I lived on the streets with a $300-a-day heroin habit. With dark circles under my eyes and track marks along my arms, I felt dead; my soul was gone. At the time, life seemed hopeless. After several attempts at rehabilitation, I finally successfully detoxed at Seabrook House in Seabrook, NJ. I then entered a women's transitional facility in Southern California where, during my 3-month stay, I began to gather the tools I needed to live without drugs. I learned the simple life skills that are necessary to stay clean and obtain serenity in my life. I stayed in California for 2 & 1/2 years while working and participating in 12-step recovery before returning home to NJ. I saw the need for something following the short term treatment that addicts were getting and began to pursue opening some housing for recovering addicts in NJ similar to what I experienced in California. So, here's what happened… 2001 - The Hansen Foundation, Inc. was formed. 2004 - Hansen House for Men opened with 34 bed capacity 2005 - Hansen House for Women opened with 34 bed capacity 2007 - Serenity House for Women opened with 11 beds 2008 - Serenity Meadows for Women opened with 10 beds 2012 - Randy Scarborough House for Men opened with 12 beds 2014 - Serenity Rose House for Women opened with 11 beds 2015 - Serenity Estates opened the first luxury sober living house for Women in NJ 2015 - September 15 - Enlightened Solutions opened with Partial Care, IOP & OP Treatment 2015 - Serenity Estates for Men opened with 14 beds 2015 - Hope Farm opened to the community to provide theraputic equine services I have been drug-free for 20 years and along with continuing to keep recovery my #1 priority, I practice yoga regularly and believe in eating healthy and organic foods. We are what we eat after all and our body is really all we have so we better take good care of it! I am so excited to be able to incorporate all of what I have learned in my recovery for the benefit of those in Enlightened Solutions and all of the Serenity Houses.

Information on Rio Rancho Rehab Clinics As part of the Albuquerque metropolitan area, the city of Rio Rancho is exposed to all of the opportunities and hazards of a large urban environment. Finding drug rehab in Rio Rancho isn't difficult, but getting the right kind of treatment for the nature and severity of your addiction can be challenging.

Recovering from an addiction to methamphetamine, one of the most commonly abused substances in New Mexico, requires a specific approach to treatment.

What to Ask Before Entering Rehabilitation Treatment

According to statistics from the State of New Mexico Department of Public Safety, the value of methamphetamine seized in 2007 to 2008 was just over $4 million; in 2008 to 2009, that number rose to almost $10 million. Gaining access to meth and getting hooked on this central nervous system stimulant are easy, but recovery is often a long, uphill battle. The effects of meth on the brain and nerves can take weeks or months to subside. Effective rehabilitation requires a detoxification process followed by intensive counseling and behavioral modification.

What Makes Meth Rehab So Challenging?

Treatment centers that specialize in meth addiction must accommodate the physical, psychological and emotional needs of their clients. Helping meth users through the stages of detox and recovery is especially challenging because:

    • Prolonged meth use can leave addicts too exhausted to focus on counseling.
    • Recovering meth users must make up for a lack of food, fluids and rest.
    • The effects of meth can make users agitated, anxious and paranoid.
    • Cravings for the drug can be overpowering, especially during early recovery.
Locating Recovery Services in Rio Rancho

An effective rehab program for meth addiction requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Along with psychotherapy and group support, you may need medication therapy to cope with the side effects of meth withdrawal or to treat underlying mental health conditions.

We can help you connect with a program in or near Rio Rancho that offers the services you need to regain your physical and emotional well-being.
