Great Counselors, Compassion, Family Days, Outside Meetings. After I left a turn over in Counselors, several employees relocated that were great assets to the Rehab. Ive been to 7 Treatment facilities, I surrendered and was willing to follow those 5 suggestions that guarantee success. 3 years has passed I now recide at a wonderful place. I have my own place with my daughter and enjoy fellowship with like minded people and accountibility. I have committed meetings that I love to go to and I finally see what I must do to be happy and I pay it forward.
I have been a patient at Valley Hope Cushing twice and when I relapsed I did not hesitate for a second on deciding where to go. When I got there the first time I was confused about what to expect and withdrawing pretty bad and received immediate and always compassionate care from the nursing staff. Everyone there from the Program Director down to housekeeping, maintenance and the kitchen staff were always willing to do anything they could to help us. The counselors were amazing... very insightful , compassionate and caring. Mine could read me so well that I'd never play poker with her. After 3 days of detox we were allowed to sign out and leave the property for up to 3 hours a day for AA, NA meetings a Wal Mart trip or whatever. After my relapse I arrived there with my tail between my legs feeling a lot of guilt and shame about what I had done and having to come back but all I heard was that they were glad that I was there and that they were happy to help me. The food was almost always good with a few dishes that I personally did not like and there was plenty of it. The facilities were very nice with a library, TV room and a nice patio to hang out on. There is a Recreation Committee among the patients that come up with activities. If your insurance cuts you off financing is available w/o a credit check, mine was at 6% unsecured. This is not a mental health facility, they deal with addiction but do look for and at underlying problems. All in all I'd recommend VH to anyone with an addiction problem, it is a very compassionate facility and I've never been hugged so much in such a short period in my life.
