Verify your coverageThe family days we spent there were extremely useful. We were made more knowledgeable and received tools to help us better help our son with addiction. If he was able to stay there a year, maybe it would have helped, but 30 days is not enough time to help anyone. The group session after care was only of value to me because I felt less alone as a parent but I don't feel it was helpful to my child. And the price was extremely unreasonable.
They are informal, they care, they explain options None that I observed I can say that the treatment did work. They have group meetings and give you the basic skills called "tools" that you have to apply in your life. Its easier to be abstinence in a controlled environment but when you leave there coming back to the real world, there is where the dangers lie and you have to use those tools. You have to be ready to change but this has to be done for you, not your child, loved ones etc. It will not work if its not for you....when you get to THAT place in your life it goes like this WE ARE HERE BECAUSE THERE IS NO REFUGE FINALLY FROM OURSELVES, UNTIL A PERSON SHARES THEIR SECRETS, THEY HAVE NO SAFETY FROM THEM. AND BEGIN TO GROW, NOT AS THE GIANT OF OUR DREAMS OR THE DWARFS OF OUR FEARS, BUT AS A PERSON, A PART OF A WHOLE. BY THIS WE CAN TAKE ROOT AND GROW. THEN WE CAN LIVE.
This place has gave me the tools necessary to live a life honorable to God and society. I was allowed to bring my kids with me over 4 years ago and we are currently living life in the graduate program and still clean and sober and more important happy.
There is no obligation to enter treatment and you can opt out at any time.
