    Administration Director
    AIM Recovery Center
"I love that I get to use my skills in management and operations, from my years as a naval officer to make everything at AIM run smoothly and efficiently. I also get to use my passion for mentoring as I lead one of the evening program classes. It is an honor to be able to help you in what ever way I can, to overcome your addictions and build a great life for yourself. It is a privilege to be part of this excellent organization. When I’m not at AIM, my wife and two children keep me busy. I have an active one-on-one discipleship ministry through my church as well. I love basketball, having played competitively since the age of ten. Though I’ve lost a few steps over the years, I still love the game. I also have a collection of tennis shoes that I’m quite proud of."

Compare Edinburg Recovery Programs Known as the "Gateway to the Rio Grande Valley," the city of Edinburg is a hub of technology and education in the Texas-Mexico border region. But like other border towns, Edinburg has felt the impact of international drug trade, and the demand for Edinburg drug rehab services is a reality that this community must face. The younger generations of Texans, in particular, are susceptible to the influence of drug-related crime. Questions to Get Answered Before Entering Rehab A study sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse showed that when teens weigh the risks and rewards of substance abuse, they are more likely to go for the immediate reward while denying the risks of their behavior.

In recognition of the need for youth recovery services, the County of Hidalgo recently announced the opening of a new substance abuse program dedicated to providing addiction treatment to children and teens.

What Recovery Services Will My Child Receive in Rehab?

The services available at a comprehensive outpatient drug treatment center in Edinburg should include:

    • Counseling services for young people and their families
    • Group sessions that build self-esteem and teach coping skills
    • Detox for kids who are chemically dependent on drugs or alcohol
    • Referrals to remedial tutoring programs for kids who need help catching up at school

Ask a representative at each of the treatment centers you investigate about the programs that the facility offers both during and after the rehab process. After your teenager finishes the program, they should continue to attend counseling sessions and support groups in order to avoid falling back into destructive habits.

Entering a Recovery Center in Edinburg

Most teens and children -- not to mention their parents -- are fearful when they enter a rehab program. An addiction counselor who specializes in substance abuse treatment for youth can help assuage your fears.
