I loved this facility with the exception of my counselor. He led my process group 3 days out of the week. He talks too much & he doesnt seem to fully understand substance abuse/addiction. I didnt agree with a majority of the things he chose to discuss during groups or his process groups. He was unorganized & would ask me the same questions over & over. He waited until the last minute to complete my discharge paperwork & even forgot to get my signature. I was flying out that morning. Hes a nice guy and means well, but I wish I had requested a different counselor earlier on at my stay there. The other counselors and staff are phenomenal. The ranch is set on beautiful land. Accommodations were great as well. PrTMS was very beneficial for me, although it is extremely expensive. Overall it was a great atmosphere and Im very grateful I got the opportunity to go there. Great treatment opportunities. Great staff available for working the steps. Cleaning crew & meals provided. Allow clients to use phones every day. My specific counselor. Ranch is located so far out that it was strenuous going to outside meetings in San Antonio. Also they seem to be very understaffed as well.
Strengths: Staffing ,hospitality, programming, volunteers. Need one place instead of two separate houses. They specialize in woman's issues based upon spirituality, unity of alumni sisters who not only participate with the other female suffering from addictions but also who participate in activities in the community
I was in the BIPP program 6.5 years ago. I hit my wife. It took a few sessions to get with the program. The class each Saturday helped me to understand why I did what I had done. I have gone back a few times and sat in on a class and was moved to hear other men speak. Thank you for saving my life from me. _B
