Horizons Family Centered Recovery Program

There is a 24 hour round the clock staff. However, there are not a lot of extracurriculars. There needs to be more therapy for outpatient continued care.

Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare

I have heard from others in town that Prairie Ridge does a good job working with the rehab patients and their families, I have experience with the type of facility, and think they do a good job working with the families. They make people feel welcome and help them on their journey to quit addiction. They have staff that cares about patients and families. They are able to serve different needs and accommodate people while they quit smoking, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, etc. However, they need more doctors.

The Abbey

A great facility with a great staff. They keep you very busy to keep your mind off using. A lot of AA/NA meetings on-site and off-site. The building/grounds/rooms are very nice and the food is excellent.

Compare Council Bluffs Treatment Centers One of the great things about the city of Council Bluffs, Iowa is that residents get to enjoy two states instead of just one. The city of 66,000 is just across the Missouri River from Omaha, Nebraska. Residents and visitors can enjoy trips to the zoo and ballet, playing along the river, and even a night at the casino if they're feeling a little bit lucky. Despite all the good things that happen in Council Bluffs, substance abuse is still a concern. Although drug use in the state of Iowa falls well below national averages, there were still more than 32,000 reported addiction treatment admissions during 2010.

By keeping everyone informed of their options, maybe that number can grow even higher in the years to come.

What Needs to Be Addressed Before Going to a Treatment Program?

Getting ready for rehab can be grueling. With so much to get in order before you go, it's often necessary to shift some of the responsibilities onto others and allow them to help you. These are tasks like finding someone to take care of your house and your pets, and informing your job that you may be away or need more time off than what you may be allotted in order to get addiction treatment.

The most important task you have as the patient is to understand the finer points of your treatment program. Learn how you'll be detoxing, and what sort of therapy you'll be expected to participate in. Not only does this prepare you for going to your treatment program, it'll help you understand if you picked the program that's best suited to your needs.
