Treatment Philosophy
Awakenings by the Sea’s vision is to provide alcoholic and/or drug-addicted women and their families an opportunity to choose a healthier way of life at an affordable rehab. The untreated alcoholic or addict may suffer physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual maladies; the impact that the alcoholic or addict has on those around them can be equally devastating. Awakenings by the Sea’s alcohol and drug treatment center in Oregon believes that alcoholism and drug addiction are primary illnesses, which are chronic and progressive and that, without proper treatment, are ultimately fatal. Although there is no cure for the disease of addiction, recovery will occur by following a carefully structured recovery program that requires self-honesty, a willingness to change and the belief that a continuing support system, which may include other 12-Step recovering people, is essential. The cornerstone of this recovery program is total abstinence from any mood-altering substances. This is followed by education and application of the concepts outlined in 12-Step programs of recovery. Using this foundation and other therapeutic methods, we believe that our treatment program can provide knowledge, a supportive environment and the basic tools necessary for our clients to begin their journey into recovery.

ADAPT/Crossroads

I attended crossroads February 2023 I found it very comforting and informative.. no judgment or negativity there what so ever my counselor was josh he helped me see and understand something about my personality that I didn't realize that is part of my addict behavior I am now working on.. food was good, beds a little undesirable but do able lol.. over all experience was good.. doing the three oral presentations were nerve racking but I did them not much of a grad speech but it was off the top of my head when I was nervous.. Ty to u all the staff were outstanding

BLVD Treatment Centers

I went to Hazelden and then Blvd. I also went to Ridgefield and returned back to Blvd afterwards. Blvd treated myself and others like family. It’s a community atmosphere with strong values about accountability and long-term sobriety. They didn’t give up on me no matter how depressed I felt. Autumn knows what she’s doing and had my best interests at heart from day 1. My experience surrendering to receive help and take suggestions from Blvd didn’t come natural but they didn’t give up. Blvd provided me structure to build a new life on. My councilor was straightforward with a lot of experience, knowledge and compassion. They are inspiring to be around. All in all, there’s a mix of fun and seriousness with a personalized approach that fit my needs. I graduated November 2017 and am sober today.

Beachside Portland

Glad I came to beachside for treatment because they helped me get through a lot of my issues. Not only did they help with my addiction, my therapist helped me with a lot of my other anxieties that caused me to use in the first place. Great place, glad I came.

More Info

Comparing Corvallis Treatment Services Corvallis and the state of Oregon overall has a high prescription drug abuse rate. In fact, Oregon ranks second in the nation for prescription drug abuse, at 6.8 percent, behind Oklahoma's rate of 8.1 percent. Doctors may be contributing to the problem. Oregon doctors are much more likely than doctors in other states to prescribe drugs. However, the increase in prescription drugs led to almost 15,000 people in the United States killed by overdosing in 2008. Although this epidemic keeps growing, there are ways for Corvallis residents with addictions to get the help they need. Types of Recovery Methods There is not one recovery method that works for everyone. A quality rehab facility will assess each patient and create an individualized treatment plan made especially for them. However, patients have needs that may change based on how well they are doing with their treatment. Therefore, in order to be effective in the long run, the treatment plan must be assessed and updated regularly.

The treatment plan must also be monitored closely, especially in the beginning stages, to reduce the risk of relapse.

Physical Signs of Drug or Alcohol Abuse

If you suspect a loved one is struggling with drug or alcohol abuse, there are usually some tell-tale physical signs that can point to possible abuse. Be aware if you notice any of the following signs:

  • Bloodshot eyes or unusual pupil size
  • Runny nose
  • Coughing or sore throat
  • Sudden weight loss or gain
  • Changes in sleeping or eating patterns
  • Slurred speech or jittery movements
