This is my first inpatient facility that I have completed a 30 day stay at. So I don't have a concrete comparison, however I have tried outpatient, and addiction councilors in the past. One thing that I think sets Synergy apart from other places at least in my situation, is they focus more on life balance and less on being an alcoholic. The classes are structured to where you can learn how to control anger, have healthy relationships that are positive and productive, and how the brain works so you know what kind of patterns to look for. Upon release I do feel equipped with tools that I didn't have before and I am on better terms with knowing myself and my family. I want to enjoy my life and the benefits that have prevailed from this program, and look forward to consistent changes and fun over the coming weeks.
I can not say enough good things about Synergy. They really do treat your mind, body and soul. The counselors and resident assistance are kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. The entire process is enlightening. Not only do they help with addiction but they also teach you healthy coping skills to handle the past, present and future events/feelings that may lead you to use your drug of choice. The group sizes allow for a more inviting and safe place to share. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. I felt like I was a guest in a close friends home not at a recovery center. The food is nutritious and delicious. They staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. The facility is clean and inviting. I was taken on several fun outings such as a baseball game and kayaking. My only desire was to have more on site outdoor activity.
When you first come in and if you withdrawing really bad they let you lay in your room for the first couple days with no consequences. You have 4 smoke breaks a day each lasting 10 minutes.
