    Meet the Pros
    Dr. Mark Keep, M.D.
    Dr. Mark Keep, M.D.
    Medical Director
Steps Recovery Center - St George Residential
Dr. Mark Keep has been in healthcare for 36 years. He was an advanced life support medic in central California for 5 years in the early 1980’s prior to attending medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He completed Internal Medicine Residency and Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplant Fellowship at he University of Utah followed by Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arizona. He worked as a general and interventional cardiologist in Utah for 18 years. In 2008 his 7-year-old daughter Alissa died in a motor vehicle accident. Dr. Keep had to overcome grief induced medical issues as well as alcohol use while struggling to recover from the pain of his daughter’s death. Volunteer work as well as research, writing, and speaking on the medical ramifications of grief and loss, including adverse coping mechanisms such as substance abuse, were part of his recovery. He has spoken locally, nationally and soon internationally on the subject. It also led to working with alcoholics and addicts and becoming an Addiction Medicine specialist. He is board certified in Cardiology, a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and board eligible in Addiction Medicine. Sharing his experience, strength, and hope as well as training, medical knowledge, and research are part of his desire to “pay it forward” and help others to also recover from grief, loss, trauma and addiction.

    Matthew Farni, CPSS
    Certified Peer Support Specialist
    Spirit Mountain Recovery
Having experienced a lifetime of lessons learned the hard way from struggling badly with alcohol and drug addiction, Matt let go, committed himself fully to a comprehensive set of recovery regimens that included learning to seek out others for guidance and direction in his life. Through this process, Matt has now been sober for over 5 years now. Working diligently each day to live a life of humility, gratitude, and service, Matt has a deep compassion for others who are struggling with drug addiction and a keen desire to help them find the tools necessary for their sustained recovery. Matt's hasn't met a fellow sufferer he can't relate to and help back onto the road to recovery.
    Ronald L. Baird, D. O.
    Ronald L. Baird, D. O.
    Medical Director
    Chateau Recovery
Dr. Baird did his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University. He received a bachelors of science in biochemistry. He then worked as a chemist for Natures Way testing herbal products for their potency and active ingredients. He did his medical training in Kansas City Missouri. After completing his internship and residency he became board certified in family medicine in 1998. He has practiced the full scope of family medicine for several years, including delivering babies, pediatrics and adolescent medicine. He has a special interest in skincare and has done additional training in laser and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Baird made a career shift to addiction medicine in 2013. He joined Cirque Lodge in March 2017. In addition to the training he has received in addiction medicine, he brings with him a wide variety of skills and experience to treat all of the basic medical needs of adult patients. Dr. Baird has the ability to explain complicated medical concepts clearly and guide the patient in helping them make decisions for their medical care. Dr. Baird believes complete medical care includes physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. He believes there are definite advantages to having one medical provider know all of the medical issues affecting the individual as well as their family.
