I decided to go to River Oaks because I knew i needed to make a change or I wouldn't be around much longer. The day before I left, I woke up in the back of an ambulance due to an overdose. I was super nervous to go and be so far from my loved ones, but it was the best decision I've ever made! From the second I was picked up from the airport, I was treated like a person. A person that mattered. They kept me comfortable. You even get to keep your phone thru the whole process. I learned so much about myself and made life long friends I'll cherish forever. Oh yeah.... while I was in treatment, I had 3 close friends die from drugs. I am thankful I chose to go do something different and scary because it could have been me instead.
