Treatment Philosophy
Oxford Treatment Center is a 110 acre campus located within the Holly Springs National Forest. With a 5-acre lake, ducks, geese and beautiful undisturbed forest land, the rural setting at Oxford Treatment Center offers a tranquil healing environment. Our approach to addiction treatment is a holistic one, seeking to restore hope and health to individuals who come to us out of painful, self-destructive patterns. It’s not enough to end a physical dependency through successful medical detox. On the other side of that first step, the individual in recovery must have the right support in place to break those old habits and replace them with new ones. He or she must find a new way to fill the void that drugs or alcohol once did — essentially, find a new meaning in life. At Oxford Treatment Center, our team of dedicated professionals consists of a medical director, a board certified addictions psychiatrist, a board certified internist, and 6 board certified nurse practitioners. The most unique hallmark of our team of medical providers is an average of 8 year tenure at Oxford Treatment Center. The medical provider cohort is proud of the stability and commitment it provides to our patients.

Great group therapy. Some consulors are recovering addicts. Easy to find location. Scheduling was poor. Easy to get in. Works with you financially. Time reserved for family members.

this rating was on my last time in treatment. I left once earlier & relapsed soon after. On my 2nd time, I was willing to do what they told me to do , so that I could stay sober. I then entered the Oxford house for a year. I must also remain in AA for my sobriety.

A Guide to Going to a Rehab Clinic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that more than 1,400 people lost their lives due to illnesses caused by excessive alcohol use. Two-thirds of this number died related to acute issues caused by drinking, the most common of which included:

  • Motor vehicle traffic accidents: 320 deaths
  • Homicide: 266 deaths
  • Suicide: 114 deaths
  • Poisoning (not alcohol poisoning): 107 deaths
  • Fall injuries: 49 deaths
  • Fire injuries: 31 deaths

Without alcohol, none of these incidents would have happened, and a total of 950 people might still be alive today. It's an issue that has law enforcement, the medical community, and government officials working together to determine what changes need to be made in order to bring about a decrease in these numbers.

The truth is, however, that the best efforts come from the families and individuals struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and addiction. When treatment is sought on an individual level, the battle against deaths caused by accidents, overdoses and negligence can be won person by person.
