Clay Crossing

I was skeptical about coming after reading some reviews but I'm glad that I did. I learned things about my addiction that I never knew about. I learned why triggers are triggers and how to handle them. It wasn't easy but nothing in life is if its worthwhile. Very caring staff and great counselors. They don't fall for your crap so if that's what you're looking for forget it. The facility itself is older but what you would call comfortable and relaxing. I thank everyone at Clay Crossing for my treatment. I've been sober 11 months now.

Narconon Arrowhead

My son was on painkillers, then heroin for ten years. He went to Narconon Arrowhead and has succeeded in staying off all drugs for three years. It took me a while to write this review because we have learned that heroin is the ultimate of human battles, and after years of heroin we didn't dare hope for miracles. But we've had three years of our son being off drugs, and recently he's gotten a lot happier because he's been employed for a year and he got a promotion. And he even started taking some classes. So the first year out of rehab was challenging finding a job and putting life back together again, and now things are so much better that he's sincerely enjoying life and is pursuing goals. Anyone out there, please don't give up. People do prevail over drugs. Thank you, Narconon, for saving my son's life and giving him back his freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All my love to every person who helps people get off drugs, BL

More Info

Investigate Edmond Recovery Centers Edmond, Oklahoma is an award-winning city that's earned recognition for its sense of community, economic opportunities and cultural diversity. But like many other small American cities, Edmond has been affected by the rise in teenage marijuana use, and drug rehab specialists have seen a change in teens' attitudes about cannabis.

In 2012, the Edmond Sun reported that several teens were arrested for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia within 1,000 feet of an Edmond high school.

What to Ask Before Entering Rehab Treatment

Substance abuse in teenagers involves not just the teen, but the whole family. When you're looking for addiction treatment programs for your child, look for a facility that offers counseling and education for parents and siblings as well as your teen. Family-based treatment addresses domestic conflicts, parental substance abuse and negative interpersonal dynamics that can contribute to a teenager's drug or alcohol abuse.

Do Teens Consider Marijuana Use 'Normal'?

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, nationwide surveys show that acceptance of marijuana use as "normal" is on the rise among teens:

  • About 71 percent of teens who responded said that they have friends who use cannabis on a regular basis.
  • The number of teens who believe that their peers don't smoke marijuana has dropped by 30 percent.
  • The number of teens who had used marijuana heavily in the past month increased by 80 percent between 2008 and 2011.
  • The number of teens who had used marijuana in the past year increased by 26 percent.
