River Oaks Treatment Center
TA Cecil kept it real with me and made feel welcome. Karah the therapist was always very cheerful and bubbly, I enjoyed her groups. We got to redecorate the LGBTQ room where they have LGBTQ groups which were so helpful. One of the biggest things that helped me out here the most was the Dharma recovery. I showed up every night and it really helped to shift my perspective in life. Just doing the readings amazed me because I would hear stuff come out of my mouth that I couldnt believe. We got to do a beach day and I loved doing spa night and getting my nails done. Karaoke was fun also, I was there every week. I loved Dimitris's groups and the Phase 2 groups. Demetrius has so much passion and the phase 2 groups are a smaller setting where you get more out of it. River Oaks helped me to gain a new perspective on life and motivated me to change and learn from my past mistakes. I even quit smoking cigarettes while I was here. To anybody out there looking for a better life, don't give up on yourself. No matter how bad things are, there are people out there who can help you overcome.
