Treatment Pros: - The counselors/therapists know what they're talking about. You'll learn a lot if you take it seriously, let the therapists do their job with you, do what they ask, and take part of the group discussions and activities. All the tools needed for sobriety and recovery are here. - The facility seemed to be very mindful on how they pair and group people. This made sure for very productive group sessions. Treatment Cons: - No rest day- the brain can only soak up so much information before needing a break. This is especially true for people with recovering brains. Facility Pros: - Gym/hot tub/sauna/pool - Helpful staff Facility Cons: - Some TA's enforce rules to the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the rules. Many times, this made things more disruptive and anxiety-inducing than it would if having discretion if actually problems were occuring (Example: Opposite sex isn't allowed to grab drinks during your sex's lunch hour. This created more of a scene, more often, than just letting people grab drinks when needed.) - The facility is aging. It could use a remodel to make it more comfortable for new comers. Carpets are filthy and detox area of the facility - where you come, and are nervous and have anxiety of what's ahead - have bright white flourescent bulbs rather than inviting warm light.
