AIM is a good program with quality staff that understands the struggles and needs of its participants. I feel like I personally gained and learned more about myself during my time as a participant there than I did in my primary care. However; the program is only really suited to help those who WANT to be there. Many participants who "checked out" or saw it as a temporary stop before returning to their everyday lives seem to have struggled after leaving the program. They didn't take things like groups seriously and made little effort actually to improve themselves while being there, and my most considerable criticism of their work is that they do not try to change this mentality while there. It makes it harder for those who are actually trying to gain something from the experience when half the participants spend nearly every day criticizing the program simply because they do not want to be there or do not wish to be sober. That being said, for those who take advantage of all AIM has to offer, I can't think of a better place to transition back into the world. Many staff members have been through treatment themselves and work to help participants navigate the world post-treatment as well as provide them with numerous resources to help them succeed in their time after leaving AIM, everything from helping participants get into college, helping them with job placement, and continuing mentorship and therapy after leaving if they so choose. It has been some time since I was there myself, so it is possible things have changed in terms of the attitudes of participants, but I'll always be grateful for my time there. I believe if it wasn't for AIM supporting and encouraging me the way they did at such a critical point in my life I would have been a lot worse off today.
Dedicated staff, organized. Not enough funding, recidivism seems to be high. This is a great facility for those who cannot afford traditional rehab services. It's efficient and organized with very dedicated staff.
I’ve been to several treatment centers several times all of us did not work before. Looking back I know why. I was actually kicked out of my last From my former treatment facility where we dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars is my third time back yeah they kick me out even though I was an alumni because I was Too much of a liability for them. They were afraid that they would get sued I was depressed and on the verge of suicide they didn’t want anything to do with me The counselors and the staff that is spent months with me prior just turn their backs just like that because of protocol too much of a liability will lost cause labeled me and kick me out no hope.Shows me that they didn’t care and they don’t care if I lived or died they just didn’t want to get sued is all about money which was pretty depressing when no rehab will take you no one wants you and what do you do then where do you turn when you know that you need help but no one will help you? Aspen ridge said that I could join the program and they excepted me I wasn’t very willing of course because I thought that this was another round of waste of money and time precious drinking time treatment centers several times I mean like for treatment centersfact I was actually kicked out of my last one because I waswill take you no one wants you and what do youwhen you know that you need help but no one will help you well these people took Be in an excepted me to their programprogram and they excepted me I wasn’t very willing course because I Was completely crazy I didn’t think I was that bad even though the doctors gave me six months to live I knew I needed to change I just didn’t know how the staff at Aspen Ridge with the most highly qualified staff of individuals I’ve ever come across in treatment. Ever. One of my counselors had three separate psych psychology degrees majoring Areas of psychological approaches. To the staff, wasn’t just a number I wasn’t just a paycheck these people cared if I lived or died and share their stories with me helped my family understand the disease, relapses and the recovery. tmThe staff helped them work past that when You did look pretty bad for a minute or longer on the outside but Aspen Ridge reassured them that I was going to make it and that’s all they need to hear!!! I just didn’t know how sick I was. I’m alive because of Aspen Ridge I owe them in my life they never turn their back on me even though they could’ve thrown me to the wolves, on the street because I was a liability they gave me exactly what I needed which was another chance at life Year and a half later they still remember my name and who I am I’m not just a number or a paycheck I’m a life that they saved. So caring so compassionate and so awesome if you really want to change your life but can’t and don’t know why if you’re at a dead end and stuck and all you see is fog and people giving up and telling you that you’re too much of a liability you’re lost cause these people can help also what was beneficial to me was there slowly integrating back into society sure anyone can get sober if their captive in the mountains for 30 days with no real life scenarios like grocery shopping or maintaining your own finances they let us do our own grocery shopping let us go to the grocery store we cook your own meals then Gradually eventually the last 30 days they let me get a job I’ve never worked a job and sober before this and having done so in rehab I know I can do it outside to rehab it wasn’t just like boom there is reality and I thought that that was just really beneficial the integration process is not very realistic otherwise no wonder so many people don’t succeed these people set you up for success They take you to the gym they take you to all sorts of meetings wherever you live in town you’ll have gotten a chance to go to want to meet other people you’ll make friends people in recovery in your community and it’s huge to have that support I created a family and community for me to belong to to be accountable to to want to be involved in. Aspen Ridge saved my life hands-down don’t waste your time and money anywhere else unless you’re serious about getting serious and even if you’re not like I wasn’t, it ended up I realized that I was blessed that I am blessed that I have had the opportunity to have gone to Aspen Ridge I know if I did not I would have died sad alone drunk don’t give up on your love ones If they really need help they’re sick and they don’t know how sick they are until after 90 days get them to meet some of the staff maybe they might feel it home like I did. Right away. Best life-changing event ever thank u god thank u aspen Ridge I don’t have to live another day like I was living ever again that’s a true blessing
