A year ago at this holiday time, I was distraught about my son's opiate addiction and frightened for his very life. Today my son has almost a year of sobriety, has a full time job and begins graduate school in January. It all began with the team at Silver Sands. A staff member was fully committed to doing what it takes to help her clients get and stay sober and she really cares! I am so proud of my son and thank the universe for bringing us to Silver Sands Recovery. Thank you to all the staff!
My experience with being at The River Source was really hard during my 14 years of Methadone use and my detox as was severe and PAW symptoms were hell, however as I reflect back I am able to acknowledge the hell I put my body through. After spending 30 days in treatment I feel that a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that I don't have to be a slave to methadone the rest of my life. I highly recommend The River Source. Everybody struggles the first week or so but eventually you will realize how much the program will help you. The fellowship is fantastic. You will meet some of your best guys from all over the country and you will have a bond with them that you may never find with a normy.
I went to the Meadows in 1977 and it saved my life. At the time to save costs it offered non of the amenities it offers now but was strongly influenced by the 12 steps of AA. You were required to complete the first three steps which are the most difficult and stressed the importance of meetings individual and group counseling . and we had no free time to swim , horseback ride but we learned all about the disease of addiction. Most loving and professional group of people I had ever met. All were in recovery and had Masters in Addiction Counseling. One of the things I was impressed with the most was that there was no repeaters as the thinking was that it made recovery.more difficult. Hard to make money on that model. Almost 40 years later the promises are alive for me and my Meadows alumni husband. Thank My Higher power as I do not understand it for this place and all the people I met there it works if you work it is the truth
