I am very stubborn. My stay at Cri-Help was 3 years in a row. The most important piece of information that finally registered in my thick skull from recovering addicts that work at Cri-Help was this: "When the student is ready the teacher appears." When I had no money, Cri-Help gave me a bed, took me to meetings, structured my life, showed me how to live by the honor system, helped me find a job, showed me how to save money and become a responsible productive member of society, living clean & sober. Cri-Help provided food, medical assistance from the County of Los Angeles, and all they asked of me was to give back to the suffering addict. Today I live in Houston, Texas, and still have not forgotten the love Cri-Help and the staff of some of the most amazing people I have encountered in my life. I love you and thank you for loving me.
