Overall, this inpatient treatment program is effective and comfortable. The therapists and case managers here are the highlights - they are caring and great advocates for your care. Unfortunately, the therapists are seriously overworked. Although both the salesman and program materials advertised twice a week appointments, therapists are available only once a week, which is seriously insufficient for an intensive program where the vast majority of people stay only 3 to 4 weeks. The daily classes are a mixed bag. Depending on the instructor, they can be extremely helpful and informative, and are great at helping you apply the principles taught to your own life so you understand what actions you need to take moving forward outside of treatment. Some instructors are incredibly effective at helping clients be vulnerable in a large class, and deliver "Aha!" moments. However, other times instructors are obviously unprepared for class, reading off a printed sheet or improvising a back and forth with the class in order to cover the time slot without any underlying material. Classes often start or end more than 15-30 minutes late, sometimes both. But if you focus on showing up and keeping an open mind to get what you can out of each class, the knowledge will accumulate. The administration side of this facility needs serious work. There seems to be a lack of communication between individuals and departments, and much of the staff is under-trained. Policies and procedures often depend on the staff on shift at any particular time, leading to confusion and frustration among clients. Some staff do not know basic information relevant to care (e.g., where one should get their medications). Apathy is rampant among a portion of the staff, who are quick to do what they need to in order to dispose of a concern rather than actually improving the treatment experience, providing quick unhelpful answers, often leading to cycles of "go ask this other person."
Greenhouse is life changing! The staff is so caring, you feel so supported by everyone. Terrance, Arturo, and Ms. G are beyond amazing. If you have the opportunity to know them, do it! Levi is also exceptional. I’m beyond grateful for my experience!
