Symetria — College Station Outpatient Rehab

Symetria was the 4th MAT clinic I've attended many years ago. I was their 7th patient in college station when they opened their doors, so I know from my experience of the clinics I've attended, right away this place is different. The staff were extremely pleasant and inviting, the office itself was esthetically pleasing, they accommodated me in so many ways, I could go on and on about how they have gone above and beyond to keep me on the right path. It was here where I learned about Recovery Coaches and what they do. Symetria offered to pay for my recovery coach training classes, which were not cheap at all. The best part is the staff. Hands down, they're the most loving, caring, compassionate people I've ever met. I recommend Symetria to any and every one that has ears. Back then, I was their 1st successful discharge, tapering off methadone. The support from everyone from the receptionist to the nurse, to the counselor AND the program director, literally everyone had my back as I moved ahead in my life. I walked into symetria one year clean but an absolute MESS of a person, and I left someone completely different with a new love for life and I owe them everything just for what they put up with from me lol (as you can see I can TALK.. and talk, I did, to every one, for hours haha) 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Taylor Recovery Center

I arrived straight out of a treatment center in Dallas Texas. I had been kicked out for petty stuff and by the grace of God Taylor let me come stay with them. The two main BHT’s are as laid back as anyone can ask but at the same time take recovery seriously. For the owners, i cant say enough good about them. He has 5 or 6 years under his belt and is an inspiration. We actually just won the softball tournament this past weekend so yes, they do take us out to do things. I’m a chronic relapser, but only until i got to a place like this that has the compassion for the addict unlike the alanon “tough love” crap that would only lead me to use again, did i get a solid foundation for my recovery. Ive been quoted as saying this place is like a summer camp. Recovery related of course. If you got a problem, come get the answer. Boggus

More Info

Get Info on Brownsville Recovery Services Situated on the border of Texas and Mexico, Brownsville has seen a rise in illegal drug traffic in recent years, reports the Brownsville Herald. Brownsville drug rehab programs have noted a corresponding increase in admissions. Drugs like heroin and methamphetamine, once uncommon in the Rio Grande Valley, have infiltrated the area and are affecting the lives of local residents.

Recovering from these addictive substances requires compassionate, intensive rehabilitation services.

A Guide to Entering Rehabilitation

Relapse rates among heroin and meth users are notoriously high. Heroin, a drug derived from parts of the opium poppy, acts on the brain's opioid receptors to produce intensely pleasurable feelings. Heroin slows down your body's involuntary activities, including your heartbeat, your respiration and your digestive activity. Overdosing on heroin can shut down these vital activities, causing respiratory suppression, unconsciousness and death.

Getting into rehab for heroin addiction is often a struggle. Once you've become physically dependent on heroin, you may feel that you can't survive without it; in fact, withdrawal symptoms can be so severe that it may seem like you'll die if you can't get the drug. Comprehensive Brownsville drug treatment programs focus not only on the psychosocial aspects of heroin addiction, but on the effects of detoxification, such as:

  • Overpowering cravings
  • Headaches, muscle cramps and bone pain
  • Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
  • Chills, goose bumps
  • Depression, irritability and agitation
Can the Poor Afford Heroin Rehab?

Poverty and homelessness are common among heavy heroin users, who may be driven to that point by long-term drug addiction. But heroin addicts in this socioeconomic group are the least likely to get help, according to the American Journal of Addictions. In a study of drug treatment utilization among injection drug users between 1996 and 2002, researchers found that:

  • As a group, heroin users were less likely to seek treatment.
  • Treatment admissions were lower among the homeless.
  • Heroin users with private health insurance were almost 10 times more likely to seek treatment.
  • Insurance status was one of the most important factors in seeking rehab.
Find Recovery Services in Brownsville

Brownsville's economy is growing rapidly, thanks in part to its thriving import/export business. But international trade has also fueled the local drug economy, driving many residents to seek out Brownsville drug treatment centers. Withdrawing from heroin, meth, cocaine or alcohol on your own can be dangerous, and without support from experienced rehab professionals, your chances of relapse are high.
