I think they should provide counselors who advocate alternatives to the 12 step model. It is a very clean, safe environment with caring counselors that help you figure out how to achieve sobriety. It is expensive (hardly the facility's fault) treatment that only focuses on 12 steps. I have been sober over two years now without AA.

The area was too close to all familiar drug usage places in my life. Meetings were as long as you wanted to attend. I relapsed after 3 months but did not wish to re-enter the facility.
