Latest Reviews of Rehabs in Oklahoma

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

Strengths: staff, food, phone calls, atmosphere, t@taught self worth and heritage. Weaknesses: Lack of/not enough Visitation and participation of family members. Really liked tribal/native aspects. Think more family participation was needed. No costs because of tribal affiliation.

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services - Jordan's Crossing

Strengths: A few exceptional counselors...no longer work there! Weaknesses:No exercise/yoga/meditation Participants allowed to do whatever with notation Disciplined by visit removal 12 step meetings are self directed therefore focusing more on problem rather than solution You get out of it What you put into it. I think less is more. Too many participants, too many children coming on day 1 with Mom. Now DMH has it turned into a 6-9 month long cattle shute! I liked it better before when DMH allowed counselors to be healers and listeners rather than typists and disciplinarians

About Oklahoma

Located in the heart of the United States, Oklahoma is a diverse and vibrant state with a rich history and unique features. With a population of approximately 4 million people,1 Oklahoma is home to a blend of cultures and backgrounds. The state’s geography is also diverse, featuring rolling prairies, lush forests, and expansive plains. The Great Plains region covers the western part of the state, while the eastern region is known for its picturesque hills and lakes. Oklahoma is often referred to as the “Sooner State” and is known for its strong sense of community, hospitality, and friendly residents.

The state is also deeply connected to its Native American heritage, with over 39 federally recognized tribes calling Oklahoma home. This cultural influence can be seen in the numerous powwows, festivals, and museums dedicated to preserving and celebrating Native American traditions. In addition, the state’s diverse music scene has produced notable artists in various genres, including country, rock, and blues. Overall, Oklahoma’s unique blend of geography, culture, and history creates a dynamic and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Addiction in Oklahoma

Oklahoma struggles immensely with substance misuse and addiction among residents. In fact, more adults aged 25 to 64 lose their lives to unintentional prescription opioid overdoses in Oklahoma than in car accidents.2 According to the Oklahoma Policy Institute, between 2003 and 2018, the state experienced a staggering 91 percent increase in drug overdose deaths and deaths linked to methamphetamine use also witnessed a disturbing surge, with an increase of over 70 percent between 2014 and 2017.2

From 2017 to 2019, Oklahoma experienced a higher-than-average prevalence of past-year substance use disorder. The annual average of individuals affected by this disorder stood at 8.3%, equating to approximately 267,000 Oklahoma residents, which surpasses the national average of 7.4%.3

Addiction Treatment in Oklahoma

Oklahoma offers a range of addiction treatment options to cater to different needs and preferences. These options include detoxification, inpatient treatment, and outpatient treatment, each serving specific purposes in the recovery process.

  • Detoxification: Detoxification, commonly referred to as detox, is typically the initial step in addiction treatment, aimed at helping individuals safely and comfortably withdraw from substances. Medical professionals provide support and monitor patients during this process to manage withdrawal symptoms.
  • Inpatient Treatment: Inpatient treatment involves residential programs where individuals reside within a treatment facility for a specified duration. This immersive setting offers 24/7 support, structure, and access to various therapies such as individual counseling, group therapy, and holistic treatments. Inpatient programs are beneficial for those requiring intensive care or who may have co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Outpatient Treatment: Outpatient treatment allows individuals to receive addiction treatment while living at home and maintaining their daily responsibilities. Outpatient programs offer flexibility, allowing participants to attend therapy sessions and counseling at scheduled times. This option works well for individuals with a strong support system at home and those who require less intensive treatment.

Various therapies and specialized treatment programs are available across these levels of care. These may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, trauma-informed care, or programs for specific populations such as the LGBTQ+ community.  The specific therapies and treatments employed depend on the treatment facility and the individual’s needs.

In addition, Oklahoma provides options for luxury rehabs that offer high-end amenities and a more luxurious environment during treatment. These facilities may provide additional services such as spa treatments, gourmet meals, and recreational activities, catering to individuals seeking a higher level of comfort during their recovery journey. Private rehabs are another option, where individuals can choose to pay for treatment using personal funds or private health insurance. These programs may offer a range of treatment modalities and personalized care, accommodating the individual’s specific needs.

To find a drug and alcohol rehab in Oklahoma, individuals can use our rehab locator tool. This tool allows individuals to search for nearby treatment facilities based on their location, providing information about the types of programs offered, amenities, and contact details.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

Most insurance providers offer partial or full coverage for addiction treatment services, including detox, inpatient, and outpatient programs. It is important for individuals to contact their insurance provider directly to understand the specific coverage and benefits available to them. Insurance companies can provide details on the types of treatment covered, any limitations or requirements, and how much the individual can expect to pay out-of-pocket.

For those who are uninsured or have limited resources, there is the option to explore state-funded treatment centers. These centers receive funding from the government and aim to provide accessible and affordable addiction treatment services to individuals in need. State-funded treatment centers may offer a range of programs, including detox, residential treatment, outpatient care, and counseling services. Eligibility criteria and availability may vary.

Length of Stay in Rehab

When it comes to addiction treatment, there are various options for the length of stay, allowing individuals to choose a duration that suits their needs and circumstances. The most common durations include 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day programs.

In addition to these standard durations, long-term rehab programs are available for individuals with complex or chronic addiction issues. Long-term rehab typically lasts between six months and two years, depending on the individual’s treatment needs and the specific facility/program enrolled in. These programs provide an extended period of intensive treatment, ongoing therapy, and support to facilitate long-term recovery and lifestyle changes.

Recovery Starts Today
