The five months I spent in Lifeline have haunted the rest of my life. Nightmares for years afterwards. The tough-love approach they use is to break teenage kids down to rock bottom before being built back up. I attempted to end my life six years after escaping, tormented by the methods they used in Lifeline to brainwash me into believing I was worthles. I still experience flashbacks to my time there from two decades ago now. I have to put forth effort in my adult life to undo the damage they did to my brain in those few months during my teens. Please, do not send a child to a treatment center like Lifeline! They are ALL harmful.

Strengths:Peer counseling model worked wonders for a teen Weaknesses:Disorganized, staff inconsistent, program director brilliant but arrogant Staff should seek info from relatives, should be consistent in enforcing rules, should not be able to be manipulated by clients (!), should walk the walk of the 12 step program they try to sell to clients
