Our Approach to the Treatment of Addiction As A Chronic Disease
First of all we consider addiction to be an illness. As with any other illness, in order to fully understand and treat addiction effectively, all aspects of the illness need to be considered. Understanding the chronic aspect of addiction is critical. Therefore many resources are understandably devoted to it. Frequently the follow up from these interventions is insufficient, leading to recurrent episodes and wasteful repetition of short-term services. The most common reason for poor treatment outcomes is a early discharge from services. Most noteworthy, Greenbranch outcomes are better because we focus on both the acute and chronic aspects of addiction.

- Bridgette M. Richardson, LCSW, MSW, BSWClinical DirectorI am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with several years’ experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders and mental health issues. I offer individual, group and family therapy. My goal is to help individuals improve their mental health and emotional well being using an eclectic approach to treatment. Therapeutic approaches include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness and experiential therapies. I will tailor my approach and interventions to the specific needs of each individual. I believe that “the only way out is through” and together we will develop a trusting relationship to build upon your current strengths while addressing issues that may hinder your recovery. I will tailor my approach and interventions to the specific needs of each individual. I believe that “the only way out is through” and together we will develop a trusting relationship. I offer a supportive and caring environment where you can learn the skills necessary to maintain long term recovery and resolve any underlying or co-occurring issues.
- Richard Gallagher, LPC, LCADCProgram SupervisorSometimes dealing with problems on your own is not enough and you are left feeling stuck, dissatisfied, anxious, angry or depressed. You may try to cope with issues or troubled relationships by avoiding them, isolating yourself, depressing, worrying, underachieving and or abusing substances. You may be one of the 10 million people in the US suffering from a more severe form of mental illness or substance use disorder. In me, you will find a warm, compassionate, person-centered therapist who believes in the value of a strong therapeutic alliance. I believe that you have the ability to change and to do great things and that together we can enact that change. Whether you simply need an ear or someone to provide guidance. I bring a dynamic, individualized counseling strategy that draws from the most effective theoretical approaches and tailored to your specific needs.
