Anchor Hospital

5454 Yorktowne Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, 30349
The Anchor Hospital campus of the Southern Crescent Behavioral Health System specializes in treating mental health and substance abuse issues in adults. The facility offers a full continuum of care in a safe and secluded setting, including confidential assessments, detoxification, inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services. Led by a psychiatrist or addictionologist, skilled multi-disciplinary teams ensure that each and every patient receives the highest quality care and most current clinical treatments.

Facility Highlights

  • Expressive Therapy
  • Family Sessions
  • Relapse Prevention

Specialization

  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

Also called “shock therapy,” electroconvulsive therapy uses electricity applied to the brain to bring about a seizure that, research shows, can be helpful in overcoming debilitating, treatment-resistant depression.
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.
